Halloween Safety for your pet
Dogs and Cats develop a routine with their owners. With the doorbell ringing and many strangers coming in and out of the house this routine can be thrown into a state of distress endanger people and your pet.

We would like to provide a few tips to keep you and your pet's Halloween a happy and fun time:

Provide a safe, secure and pleasant environment for your pet inside. Soothing music or a TV show he/she is used to watching will provide a calming distraction to all the action happening outside.

As everyone knows Chocolate is poisonous to canines, but did you know that it is also toxic to cats and ferrets? Keeping all candies away from your pets is the best advice we can give. Not just chocolates are harmful to your pet.

Keep your pet away from the decorations. As we stated earlier dogs and cats get used to their routine and environment. The candle in the middle of the jack-o-lantern can quickly summons your pets to be curious.

As much as many like to dress their dogs and cats up for Halloween do not bring them along for trick-or-treating. Losing your pet, or worse, having them get confused and bite someone can quickly ruin your fun.

If you do have to venture out with your pet remember to keep them on their leash at all times. With so many people out and about it would be easy for them to get distracted and follow someone else.

Keep you pet inside. It's so important reinforce this. It is not uncommon for vandalism to take place on Halloween and Black cats are often targets. Keeping your fury friend in doors will ensure their safety.

All pets need to be on a leash. For your safety do not open the door if a pet is not on their leash. Simply ask that they restrain their companion before opening the door.

Try to keep your decorations to a minimum and out of reach of wondering animals.
